Gaps in your resumé…

Myth: If there are gaps in your resumé (such as travel), you can always explain it in the interview.

Reality: A gap in your resumé raises a question..what happened? You might not get the interview to explain. A gap could suggest a potential problem or mystery. Tell the truth and/or explain it in the cover letter. Gaps for travel could be a good thing. It could tell the employer you have travel “out of your system” and are now ready to apply yourself to your career.
