Myth:Describe your ideal job in your resumé objective or cover letter so hiring managers can determine if you will be happy with the job.
Reality: The employer isn’t interested in what makes you happy. They want to know how you will make them happy and contribute to their company’s goals and objectives. Use your objective to introduce yourself and indicate how your education, experience, and skills will bring value to the employer. Remember, your resumé is a marketing tool and the objective must address their needs…not yours.
